Olin Rocketry
Purpose
Olin Rocketry is a student-driven engineering team based at Olin College. Our mission is to launch innovation sky-high while equipping future aerospace leaders with real-world design, build, and leadership experience.
At Olin Rocketry, we design, build, and launch rockets—while building a strong aerospace community. From industry speaker events to masterclasses, we bring together students from Olin, Wellesley, and Babson to collaborate and innovate.
Former IREC competitors, we now focus on our own R&D and full-custom rocket designs—from carbon fiber structures to in-house avionics. Our ultimate goal? Reach the Kármán line (100 km altitude).

Since 2017, we’ve built high-powered rockets for a range of missions—from competition flights to custom R&D launches.
We design and test our own propulsion systems in-house through a rigorous R&D pipeline focused on safety, performance, and innovation.
Our avionics team engineers all onboard electronics, from flight computers to telemetry systems—fully designed, built, and tested in-house.
Our structures team builds lightweight, high-strength composite airframes while leading the overall rocket assembly process.
Our payload team designs and tests scientific experiments for flight, preparing them for deployment in upcoming launch campaigns.
